Since i have writers block i need help finishing a song.

It is the re-worked version of my song my freestyle was meant to be. So far i have 1 bar worth of lyrics this is the lyrics i have so far. I forgot to mention  whoever helps get's song writing credit.

Lyrics are tough in a couple of ways.  First you have to be familiar with the rhyming scheme of the song, then you have to know how many beats per line and break up the rhymes so each line ha the right number of beats.  As an example from an unrelated genre:

15 beats - It's of a gentleman soldier as a sentry he did stand
15 beats - He saluted a fair maiden by a waving of his hand
15 beats - And then he boldly kissed her and he passed it off as a joke
16 beats - He drilled her up in a sentry box wrapped up in a soldier's cloak

LOL then again, I have no real idea how a freestyle words for beats and scheme, so...

10 beats - Dear Sir, regarding your recent foray
12 beats - Into the rap business and the scene you portray,
11 beats - See I don't normally approve of war games,
10 beats - But "He's biting you" is what they all say

So in this song its between 10-12 beats to keep the rhyming scheme tighter and have a faster flow.

So, to start I'd say lay out each line and get a feel for the beats/syllables.  You can actually change the syllables just by how you pronounce words, so factor that into your scheme as well.

Count up the syllables for each line, for example:

That is your beat count per line. in order to make your rhymes flow smoothly each line should have roughly the same number of beats.

Look at the lyrics to some of your favorite songs and see how their rhyme scheme works and how they lay out their sentences.

13 beats - As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
15 beats - I take a look at my life and realise there's nuthin' left
11 beats - 'Cuz I've been blasting and laughing so long, that
10 beats - Even my mama thinks that my mind is gone
14 beats - But I ain't never crossed a man that didn't deserve it
13 beats - Me be treated like a punk you know that's unheard of
13 beats - You better watch how you're talking, and where you're walking
11 beats - Or you and your homies might be lined in chalk
11 beats - I really hate to trip but i gotta loc
13 beats - As I Grow I see myself in the pistol smoke, fool
14 beats - I'm the kinda G the little homies wanna be like
13 beats - on my knees in the night, saying prayers in the streetlight.
16 beats - Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta's paradise
16 beats - Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta's paradise
16 beats - Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta's paradise

Depends on how you pronounce the words, this is how I pronounce the words and the beats I get.

Depends on how you pronounce the words, this is how I pronounce the words and the beats I get.

So the answer would be to write the basic rhymes and then make the words and pronunciation fit the beat.  Lay it out like the lyrics I showed above, a certain number of beats per line and then tweak the lines to match the beat.

OK i am on the 3rd bar of the first verse. I decided to have 3 bars for the first verse.
