Flashback.
Real World.

Heavy breathing.

There's blackness.

Mikhail woke.

He can't see.

Where is he?

There's something on his face.  A mask?  He could feel the tight straps run around the back of his head.  He wanted to question it, but his mouth was taped over, or so he thought.  And his arms.  Was that a straitjacket?  Where the hell was he!?

Then the sound of high heels.  The clip-clopping approaching.

Louder.

Louder.

The last thing he could remember was that voice.  The voice of that English man.  This couldn't be happening.

The door opened.  Then she spoke.  That woman.

The note was sitting atop her nightstand beside her bed. It was in his writing. Picking it up, she opened the seal and unfolded it, her eyes scanning across it slowly. A small smile touched her lips upon finishing and she folded it, placing into her throw over before heading into the bathroom to get ready for the day.

Down two flights of stairs she went, her heels echoing off the walls as she went. Into the hall that lead to the room, room 211 upon which her special 'gift' waited for her. At least, that's what the letter had said. "Something you've much longed for awaits for you in room 211. A gift, I believe you'll treat in a proper manner, as expected."

It made the red haired woman excited, as her heels clip-clopped down the hall towards the room. An excitement that she held in check, should anyone else come into contact with her before she reached the room.

Stopping outside the door, Adalinda placed her hand on the doorhandle, before turning it and walking into the room. A breath of excitement left her lips at the beautiful sight of the man, who sat strapped into that chair, bound in a straitjacket. His face was covered, not giving a hint. But she knew who he was.

"My, isn't this a lovely little surprise. Mikhail Kirechenko, how nice of you to drop by." Walking torwads him, her hand rested on his knee, giving it a squeeze. "I must say... I am most delighted. You do remember me, don't you?"

The woman made him scared, and his body movements showed it.  As soon as she placed her palm on his knee, his legs began to tremble uncontrollably.  Mikhail shook his head from side to side, up and down pathetically, like some wild animal that had went berserk.  He had heard stories, that Adalinda Knapp had invested in a mental institution somewhere.  And she did terrible things to those that walked inside of it.  And now here he was, in that very asylum, strapped to a chair, bound, nowhere to run or escape.  Mikhail Kirechenko was her patient.

"Mmmmm!! Mmmmph!!"

It was no use.  His fighting would result in nothing except her amusement.  The porcelain blinded him, giving the Russian no indication of what was around him, or indeed what he looked like in his current state.  The man that had brought him here was one of Adalinda's main suppliers and shareholders, if you could use a term like that.  He had a keen interest in the way she ran this place, and wanted it to succeed.  So every now and again, another patient would turn up for her to play with.  They all came in the same attire.  The China Doll mask that hid their facial features, with the straitjacket buckled and locked.

He swung his head again, sitting still was out of the equation.

"Oh, would you look at that. You do remember me!" Adalinda put an arm around his shoulders, and a hand under his chin, holding his head still. "You're such a dear. And here I was worried, I would have been forgotten!"

Resting her head beside Mikhails now forced-to-be-stilled head, Adalinda let out a soft sigh, patting his head. "How silly of me! You'd never forget me. That's just plain out of question!" Standing, she walked away and moved around him, letting her fingers trail along the side of him as she went. "Now.. you are here. I am here... after such a long absense between each other! There's much to catch up on my dear friend. But I must insist on getting down to business with you, at the very same time."

She walked towards a white rollaway table and picked up a black leather glove, slipping it onto her right hand before reaching for a rod that lay next to it. Adalinda pulled on the cord at the end, extending it and making it longer so she could reach Mikhail and touched his arm gently. "Surely you know much about me, like I know about you... how much you've accomplished by now. Impressive Mikhail. I'm very impressed. I knew you had much potential in you."

"But, I'm sorry to say, that all ends here. You see, once someone is omitted... well I'm afraid, they're never seen outside these walls again. But, I'm sure you already knew that. That's why you are shaking so terrible, isn't it? Oh, you poor thing... if only things had been different back then, you wouldn't be in such a pickle, would you? But that's alright. I forgive you. Think of this as a nice little way of me saying "All is well." Okay?"

Bringing the rod close to his body, Adalinda put her hand on his forehead, holding his head down. "Now my dear, I must warn you.. this is going to hurt just a wee bit. Try not biting your tongue. I don't want you to die too quickly here."
And with that, Adalinda jabbed the rod into his side, sending strong electrical volts running through his body. She began to laugh, as his body trembled from the high voltage.

She talked too much, but it was all part of the act.  Gloat in front of her prisoners, let them know that while they were tied down, she was walking around them, contemplating on what she was going to do.  Boasting that they were now hers.  Mikhail wondered if Juron was alright.  Did she know where he was?  On one hand, he wanted her to come rescue him, but on the other, it would be a suicide mission.  She'd be captured just like he --

oh no.  She wasn't here as well, was she?

Not like he could ask.

But listening without seeing.  That was the problem.  She told him it was going to hurt a little bit.

What was going to hurt a little bit?  She gave him no indication of what to expect until a second before she sent the crippling electricity through his system.  If he thought he was shaking badly when she first came in to the room, it didn't compare to what was happening now.  A long, drawn out groan of pain pierced through the tape and the porcelain, giving Adalinda plenty of music to her ears.  There was no way he could give her any satisfaction by begging through the gag.  He had to keep strong, as long as he could.

The harder she pushed it into his side, the more it hurt and she couldn't help but laugh, hearing the groan come from his pain. "Now, I know what you're wondering, how did I, Adalinda Knapp become such a beautiful success? Well, I'll tell you Mikhail. I'll answer your question. It's rather quite simple really."

Pulling the rod away from his body, she brought her lips down to where his ear was and whispered softly. "I found him, you see. He came for me... you were wrong Mikhail. You were all wrong. You see, after your silly little stunt, after we parted ways..."

Adalinda ran the rod up the outside of his thigh, and found a small spot of exposed flesh between the straitjacket and his hospitalized pants. She pressed it there, a red welt building up quickly before she pulled it away. "We found each other. He rescued me from the silly world you lived in. He brought me into his grasp, and promised me everything you told me would never happen. He found me. And gave me everything I could ever want."

She jabbed the rod back into his thigh and hissed the words "Everything."

Impossible!

He couldn't believe what she was telling him, the story was a lie.  It had to be.  Or maybe he was too stubborn to believe anything these days, never believing in the rubbish Adalinda had talked about all those years ago.  She wanted to find a back door, a secret entrance to some world.  The Russian was dragged along with her, always believing the same result -- that she was bonkers.

Maybe he was right about that thing.  Adalinda was more deserving of being a patient in here than half the unfortunate victims were.  But his thoughts were rudely interrupted by more body spasms.  All he could do was close his eyes, absorb as much as he could and hope that he didn't bite his tongue off.  The least she could have done was give him something to chew down on, to press his teeth against!

As he kept hoping that the last shock was the final one, he could feel his bladder starting to leak.  No, no.  He had to fight against the most humiliating thing of all!  Mikhail was winning that battle, at least!  But for how long for?

Adalinda paused and sniffed the air.

"Do you smell that?" Drawing the rod away from Mikhails body, she watched as the mans body slowly began to calm down and she placed her hand on his chest gently. "The smell of sweat and fear... your fear. Your sweat. The very core of the beautiful pain that I am bestowing upon you."

Taking a step back from him Adalinda twirled the rod through her gloved fingers before tossing it onto a padded countertop. "You thought me a liar, Mister Kirechenko. You had made nothing but a mockery of me. A utter and complete mockery. You never believed me, when I told you of the secret door into another world! Another reality so unlike ours! Filled with real monsters, real magic.. a reality your stupid narrow minded brain could not understand. You, and everyone else thought me a fool. A fool!"

With her teeth, Adalinda removed the glove from her hand, slipping it into a pocket at her waist. "Do you remember Mikhail, when you left me for dead, you shot me. No, of course you remember. Just as well as I do."

Walking to a section of the room, she stood before a wall with many enjoyable weapons. All different kinds of guns. Each loaded with 3 bullets. A particular one stood out to her, a replica of the rifle Mikhail had used on her. Taking it down, Adalinda slid the safety off and headed back towards Mikhail.

"I found the door Mikhail. I found him. Are you understanding this yet? I found what you couldn't believe to exist! What do you think now? Pressing the barrel of the gun to Mikhails leg, Adalinda let out a soft sigh. She adored the way he trembled from her. THe fear that filled the room so thickly from this one man.

"It is unfortunate, you cannot enjoy this as much as I am."

A soft humming sound filled the air as the chair began to straighten itself, giving the impression of Mikhail standing.

"Eight paces should do it, I think. What do you think Mikhail? Kneecaps first?... Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to kill you with this just yet. I have much more instore for you that I need you alive for!"

Ramming hte butt of the rifle into his knee, Ada leaned into him. "So much... I cannot even begin to explain what I have lined for until the very end.."

She took the eight paces away and aimed. "Are you ready? I promise... this will hurt... a lot."

Oh, how he wished he could tell her what he really thought.  What was he thinking -- of course she didn't find the door!  There was no proof, no evidence of its existance.  Mikhail didn't remember much before he was caught and brought here, he couldn't even remember who it was that tied him up.  Maybe it was just one of Adalinda's goons, her ever-growing network of spies.  After all, she had a decent control over certain parts of Europe.  It was worrying, actually.  So for all Mikhail believed, she could have simply dreamed that she went to his magical world.  Or that she herself thought she had -- thus meaning she should be in the straitjacket instead of him.

When the gun came out, that's when everything changed.  The electricity was bad enough, but a bullet was going to hurt him for a long time.  No.

Mikhail couldn't let her.

He had to fight back.

Shaking from side to side, he reacted quickly -- diving towards the woman.  Maybe he could knock her off balance and hope the gun dropped from her hands quick enough for him to restrain her with his... umm.. legs?

Adalinda let out a cry of surprise as Mikhail tumbled from the chair that he had been attached to. She didn't understand! How could he have possibly gotten free? In an attempt to keep the man from crashing into her she dove out of the way, the rifle in her hands sliding across the barren floor of the room to rest nicely against the wall farthest from her.

"You fool!" she cried rolling so that she sat on her butt, propped up on her knees. Mikhail was helplessly blind at her feet and in a moment of rage she kicked out at the man who'd sent her down letting the heel of her odd shoe connect with the side of his head. "How dare you interfere with my plans! Again!"

Getting to her feet she used her foot to roll Mikhail onto his back, staring down at his beautiful face masked behind the porcelin. "You're really beginning to get on my nerves, Kirechenko. Can't you ever cooperate with me for once? It would makes things much easier for you..."
