Seth had listened to her and smirked at her little dig at JD after explaining their situation on the roof top, he knew it hadn't been one of his better ideas, but Mason hadn't thought of a safer way out for them after deciding that taking to the streets to escape the clutches of whatever those things were out there, was too much of a risk to the civilians they had in tow, that was also why Seth wasn't team leader. Mason knew about these first two buildings, the gap between the music store and the smaller antiques shop next door, was quite narrow and thus quite easy to cross. However from the antiques store to the next building along wasn't so easy and would require a Spiderman style leap across to the other set of ladders. They'd then need to work a pulley system between the buildings; as Adrian had outlined earlier, to get everyone across. One by one was going to be too damn slow and he knew full well that Wookie wouldn't be leaving his camera behind any time soon, he was in fact filming again, having seemingly deemed it long enough left alone after the incident in the staff room of the music store. Mason didn't care right now, plus if they were seen to be doing everything right then everyone's morale would be going up in the station because they'd look like they knew what they were doing in a situation they knew nothing about. Thus leading to them helping everyone get out of this nightmare unscathed... Jacobson was thinking the same thing, there was a lot riding on Echo team's return, especially seeing as he'd just silently sent out Foxtrot to gather some supplies.

<Foxtrot team>

The team consisted of their captain, call sign Maverick (Nicknamed for the aviator sunglasses he wore almost all the time), their scout, call sign Starkers (A man who had gone into his sleeping arrangements in great detail one too many times, basically the man slept naked), Xero the communications officer who had no call sign simply because his name was so obscure, his spotter, call sign Sniper (Which was basically a joke against his role in the team of snipers), the only female on their team who was conveniently enough a medic when she wasn't out sniping, her call sign was Nester (Her actual name was Esther which helped along the play on words combined with the sniper's nest) and finally her spotter, call sign Silver fox (A man with slightly graying hair, who moved very quickly to get to targets when not playing spotter). And they'd set out from the station via the roof access ladder not 5 minutes after receiving their briefing from Jacobson, it had been a simple enough task to perform under normal circumstances, it was just like going for the lunch run when everyone else was busy. However these of course, were not normal circumstances, these were far from being as such, and as such were treated completely differently. Maverick had to think about his team's survival first and foremost, then he had to come up with an idea of how to get them to the super store, then find a mode of transport to be able to load food in to, then find a way back and into the station to deliver said food... It was made to sound so simple in the station when they were first given the order.

<Echo team>

Seth played each scenario over in his head several times, if he jumped and missed a railing or a ladder, he'd more than likely break a bone and then have to fight off the hordes of crazies down below... Dead. If someone else did the same thing, dead... Unless it was possible to get to someone down below and try to help them, there again there weren't really any options other than wait for the van Adrian's partner was driving around, and by that time there might not have been enough time... More than likely, dead... He didn't like them but they had no other choice and he knew everything had to run perfectly, seeing Adrian make it across to the next building via the fire escape stairwell gave him a little sense of relief, he followed suit and stopped directly behind her as she scoped out the next roof.

"I gotta be honest, killing one of these 'things' isn't gonna help me much, so if you don't mind, I'm gonna make that jump and allow you the honor of blowing off the other side of his head... If it's all the same with you..." He responded to her, he'd appreciated that sh'd noted his mental state, for whatever reason it might have been; most likely for tactical purposes, she probably needed to know who was a use to her and who was going to be a hindrance. The run up was simple and the jump was better than he'd planned it, making it across to the other set of ladders with ease, but something had stopped him dead in his tracks as he'd landed...

<Charlie team>

It had been a long day for Charlie team, largely because they'd been holed up in the back of their SWAT van for a large portion of the day, but primarily because there were now only 2 surviving members, and one of them wasn't even from Charlie team. Captain Rogers of Alpha team and the main head in charge of the SWAT teams as a collective, had been sat alongside Charlie team's medic Mike Brodeur, call sign Shot stopper (Mainly down to his surname being identical to NHL goal tender Martin Brodeur). They had only been sat in the back of this van because it was the only place they could get to after the initial onslaught that saw both of their teams decimated in just moments. Trauma had set in for both men and as such, the masses of weaponry they were loaded up with in the van, didn't matter as much as it should have done. It was only when they'd heard the call for Foxtrot come over the radio that they woke back up, Rogers knew Foxtrot would've been the first team back and thus would be intact, were they being sent out to find survivors? Were Echo team still alive and able to help out? He didn't care right now, he'd just sprung back into life and instantly got on his radio. After hours of silence it seemed strange to finally be saying something back to those that had called out for him and every other team that was asked to sound off a few hours ago.

"This is Captain Rogers of Alpha team, I'm the only surviving member of my team, sat alongside Shot stopper, the only surviving member of Charlie team, we are holed up in a SWAT van just outside the antiques store, if there are any nearby units please respond." It might have been a hopeful call out but it was always worth a shot.

It was this call that had stopped Seth dead in his tracks, he now fumbled around his equipment to find his mini LED torch. Upon finding it he shone it out on the street just behind him, he couldn't see round the corner of the building and hadn't yet heard a gun shot from Adrian to signal that the crazy on the roof above him had been killed. Mason keyed his throat mic and replied "This is Captain Arnold Mason of Echo team, we are currently moving along he rooftops right near your position Rogers, we are on the roof of the antiques store right now. How can we help?"

The relief written on Captain Rogers' face was indescribeable, Shot stopper already overheard the returned transmission and was quite happy himself, but still worried about the world outside this van, knowing full well they'd have to go out there to escape. Rogers keyed his throat mic again. "Well fuck me Morning star I've never been to happy to hear your voice. But what you can do to help is give us an idea of what we're up against out there so we can get this van rolling back to the station." He sounded confident again, a new lease of life rushing into him as if he'd never endured this day and hadn't sat back in the van this whole time, cowering in fear, listening to people die outside. He felt partially ashamed but knew there would be time to lament on that when they got back to the station, now was time for action.

Mason was relieved to hear Rogers's voice too if truth be told, more so because that meant there was another senior officer out here to help run the teams, but mainly because Rogers was the overall SWAT team leader and as cowardly as he felt about his other reasoning behind the matter, the decisions made from here on out were now not going to be Mason's fault if they went wrong... He keyed his mic to respond, shortly after Lutokus had pointed the van out in the middle of the street.

"Well sir, it looks like you're completely surrounded, but I'm sure with enough noise and movement, we could buy you some time to evacuate the back of the van and get to the driver's seat and then over here. What do you think?" Mason wasn't sure if his tactics were working anymore, this situation had fallen apart from the moment it begun and everywhere he turned there seemed to be something stopping him reaching his goal. Two civilians had already died today under his watch and one of his team mates was already showcasing early signs of psychosis, another had been blown half to hell.. It hadn't been a good day under his command.

Rogers thought about this for a second, it seemed like the only option and a decent enough idea, the only problem was finding a way to do it without anyone getting killed, though he hadn't seen much of these crazies to begin with so he had nothing to go with but someone else's word. "Run the play Morning Star, keep me posted, Rogers out," he had every faith in Mason, his favourite of the team captains, he was certain this would work.

Back on the rooftop everyone waited for Mason's orders, he himself mulled over the ideas in his head and realized that out of this plan, he could only think of one solution that'd work properly, however he didn't want to disappoint his superior and as crazy as the idea was... He couldn't see another way around it. "Alright... I want to run some distraction down there so we can buy Rogers some time, I need covering fire from all possible angles, remember though, pick your shots." He stated, it stunned everyone, Mason never made calls like this and he'd never put himself in the firing line like this before either, but Seth had figured out the reasoning behind it and it stopped him from arguing. However before the others could voice their concerns, mason was already on his way down the fire escape steps and was on the ground in no time. Seth climbed the fire escape on his building and took up position on the closest corner to the antique store, he flashed a conceeded look in Adrian's direction, knowing she wouldn't approve of this ridiculous idea, before he turned back to the action and opened fire, placing head shots where ever he could, everyone else followed suit on the opposite building.

Mason now on the ground made a mad dash for the SWAT van, keying his mic as he moved and fired. "Rogers this is Mason, I'm en route to you now, coming in hot and fast, prepare to move!" He shouted, not even taking a breath since he began sprinting for the van. "GO!" He shouted as he was just close enough to draw the attention of the crowd surrounding the van and began taking shots at them, all the while being protected by his team from above.

Rogers sprung into action and burst out of the back doors of the van with a Stryker shotgun and opened fire instantly to clear a path. He jumped out and hit the ground running, instantly turning to head for the driver's door, he looked cut off for a second, even with his gun raised and primed to fire, before Mason took out the creature standing in his path, Rogers didn't hesitate to capitalize on this and ran harder. Reaching the front of the van and swinging open the unlocked door, his gaze met with Shot stopper's for a brief moment, before he disappeared from sight, Rogers though he'd clambered inside the van, he was wrong. Shot stopper had been grabbed at the last second; just as Mason had gotten round the side and had to reload, and dragged off into the oncoming crowd of crazies. For that split second in which Mason had reloaded and looked to find him, everything slowed right down, he was out of view for his team up high to cover him and that lapse in his concentration was all it took for one of the crazies to latch onto his right shoulder and bite down on the armor that covered it, he was spared, though dealing with this one meant that he'd unwillingly exposed himself to another that took a chunk out of his left forearm as he swung it to take out the man on his shoulder. His scream of pain wasn't too loud, but it was loud enough for Rogers to hear it and lose his focus long enough to have a bite taken out of his leg from a crazy that had leant in through the open driver side door. It had all fallen apart, but he knew there was something he could still do. Mason jumped in the back door and, kicking away a crazed woman, slammed it firmly shut behind him. Rogers turned to his side and shouted. "What was all that girly screaming out there?" He asked, Mason turned to him with a half smile, "Got crept up on, nearly shit my pants... Sir," he replied before turning back away and looking down at his injured forearm, it was a grim situation, but he wasn't ready to die right now. He searched the back for arm guards, and to his luck, he found a set instantly and set about equipping them right away before he felt the truck lurch into gear and move quite rapidly in reverse, turning sharply towards what he could only guess through logic, would be the alleyway between the building Seth was on and the antiques store...

Seth had run out of ammo now and could only watch on as Rogers was bitten and Mason quickly moved into the back of the van. As it reversed Seth could only do one more thing to help now and it seemed like suicide, however with only one angle to cover, it wouldn't have been too difficult to drop down and provide melee support with his combat knife. This idea was instantly nipped in the bud when Rogers appeared from the front of the van and clambered on top of it's rear end, still firing away with his Stryker. "EVERS! GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THOSE STAIRS ASAP!" He shouted over the noise of his gunshots. Seth wasted no time moving rapidly across the roof top and onto the stairwell and waited for Rogers to give the next order.

Nothing came at first, Rogers just kept shooting. Everyone stood looking on, not sure what to do and really low on ammunition. Suddenly Mason burst out of the back of the van, carrying two large bags, one on either shoulder, he looked foward to see how much time he had, then looked to the top of the van to see Rogers still shooting. Rogers knelt down and was handed the bags by Mason before helping him clamber on top of the van. The bags were then handed over to Seth who took them and set them down on the ladders he was stood on. He proceeded to help Mason across who in turn took the bags and set them on the roof.

"Sir, come on!" Seth shouted and held his hand out in offering to help Rogers. He was confused by what came next, Rogers removed his jacket shortly before moving his body armor and handing that over to Seth instead "Sir?!" Seth took the armor but continued to look on in bemusement. "Kid, I'm done for, bastards took a chunk out of my leg, You've seen what happens when they bite you..." He replied. "I would've been trying to buy you guys some time to take this van back to the station..." He added. "So why the weapons sir?" Seth replied. Rogers pointed at the engine, several holes lined the bonnet and smoke was slowly pouring out of it.

"Shit..."

OOC: I'm not gonna use Cass for much, but again as you said, if I need to move him I'll do that, might use a tiny bit of dialogue too if that's alright, just lemme know what you think about it and I'll alter if necessary.

IC:

Mason was back in control of his team again, it had happened so fast that he hadn't even had the chance to soak up the relief he'd had when they first heard Rogers' voice over the comms. The responsibility was back in his hands, along with everything else that had just happened. They'd lost one already to these crazies, he'd gotten careless but that was never going to be an excuse Mason was willing to accept, he couldn't reach the kid in time and Rogers was starting up the van. Rogers himself had been bitten and was now a lost cause, Mason had been bitten but there was only one person that knew and he was hoping he could distract her long enough to Make some more use of himself before he had a bullet put in his head, he knew it was over, but it wasn't going to stop him trying to help the others survive... But in this small moment of shock, a moment of clarity appeared as soon as Seth dropped the last of the equipment bags by his feet, snapping him out of the dazed trance he had been in.

"Sir, we need to think of another way around this situation, JD's not gonna be able to make it across these roof tops in his condition," Seth began. Mason knew where this was going, he knew what to suggest. He turned to Adrian and keyed his head set. "Alright people listen in, we've got limited time and resources, we're only gonna have room in the vehicle for a couple of people, and I'm not sure how much fuel Cassius has so multiple trips might be out of the question. The SWAT van is wrecked so that's another option down but I think we can use that to our advantage when getting down. I'm gonna send a team of you with Cassius to help him get refueled so we might be able to make multiple trips. The rest of you will stay here with the civilians until it's their time to be evacuated to the station. Any objections or better ideas, speak up now..." He ended and waited a little while before nodding decidedly. "Cass, how long is it gonna take you to get here?" Mason asked next. Cass didn't reply and it didn't take long for them to figure out why as their attention was drawn to the end of the street by the sound of screeching tires against the tarmac from the car Cass just hand brake turned around the corner. "Get ready to load up!" Mason shouted at his team, pointing toward Marnie, Charlotte and Lutokus. "You three, get down there, everyone else stay here and cover them from up top," Mason barked his orders confidently for only the second time today.

No sooner had he barked his orders at them, were Witch, Vermin and Marine sprinting down the fire escape stairs on the side of the AMPs store, heading toward the S.W.A.T. van wedged firmly in the alleyway below. Cassius was now only about 20 yards away, they had to move faster, conserve what ammo they had left after they'd just gained some. Cassius pulled up in front of the van just as Marine and Witch hit the roof, they moved in one quick motion off the van and on to the street, shooting a path for themselves as they went. Vermin stopped on the S.W.A.T. van's roof momentarily as Seth lowered one of the weapons & ammo bags, Mason hadn't ordered this but knew that once those three got back to the station, they could start helping to arm more people and make things a little easier on the police force. He shouldered the bag and rolled off the van onto the bonnet and then the pavement swiftly, 'One for the cameras' he thought to himself with an inward smug smirk. The three of them hopped into the 4 by 4 and Cassisus hit the gas, heading down the road and left, further into town toward the gas station. This now left Adrian, Seth and Mason on the antiques shop across the alley from AMPs, on top of their roof were now just Wookie, Emma Price (Who were still filming), JD and the 4 remaining survivors from the store.

<Foxtrot team>

Maverick had his team head into the garage, he already knew that taking a SWAT van would probably be the best way forward, along with a patrol car to transport the rest of the team in. Xero had been tasked with driving the SWAT van while his spotter, Sniper, would have the wheel in the patrol car with Nester, Silver fox and Starkers. They gathered around their respective vehicles while Maverick addressed them. "Alright here's what's going to happen. As soon as we leave this garage, a few teams of officers are going to grab the nearest 18 wheeler they can find and plug the gap between the warehouse across the way and the apartment block next to it, effectively cutting off the alley to the North so those things can't reach us, or get out of town on the bridge, there's gonna be some barricades and a couple of patrol cars blocking the main road route and smaller alley ways so there's not getting that way for now and once we're out of the way, they'll be barricading the street just below the station so we won't be able to get back that way unless we reverse into the barricade and add to it. Any questions?" He ended and looked around at his team. Sniper nodded his head sharply before speaking "This seems like a dumb plan to me, but hell, it seems the best we've got. The question I have is, why haven't those things swarmed in from the roads towards us yet? They've had plenty of time" He ended, it was a good question. These 'crazies' had swarmed the main route into town in a manner of minutes and swept through most of the area only minutes later, but they hadn't yet tried to reach the station at the far end of town. Jacobson had given the order to block off all routes leading to the station and then the only route out of town would be a contingency plan if one of their barricades failed. But it still hadn't made sense to Foxtrot team, though there again they hadn't been watching the news and all the noise that Echo had been making.

"I don't know son, but the commissioner wants this done as quickly as possible, hopefully if they're not her,e then they won't have reached the supermarket yet, which means we probably don't have much of a window to work with. So without wasting any more time here's what we'll do when we get there. Straight out of the vehicles, grab trolleys and fill them with mostly canned food, grab some bread and simple drinks supplies, preferably water, we don't want anyone fighting anyone else because we ran out of Fanta... Understood?" He waited for the response, the entire team piped up all at once "Yes sir!" And with that they were off, racing into the vehicles, wasting no time as officers poured into the garage from the inside of the station, those ready to set up the barricades once Foxtrot team had gone. Sniper and Xero wasted no time, patrol car arriving first to secure the area once they arrived and covering the SWAT van Xero was gunning down the road now.
