Meredith nodded a bit, and sat up slowly, uncaring as the towels fell away from her chest.  ~Think so...~  She reached out and took the underwear from him, her arm and hand shaking a bit, but not too badly.  Standing was still out of the question though, so she worked the garment up her legs and shimmied it onto her butt.  She didn't care if he watched or not; part of that side of her thoughts were numbed, and partly, things like that didn't matter.  As she had told him, it wasn't like nobody else had seen.  She picked through the clothes for the bra next, and worked on dressing herself.

Cindy's little face furrowed as she studied the screen. Finally she pointed at the screen, "one two free four five" she said the last number excitedly, "five hundred is this line" she said to Gunny pointing at the appropriate line, not that he could see it. "Right?" she asked excitedly. "No body there now" she said over the radio shaking her head for him.

Kyra rolled to the edge of the cab and lowered herself down, combat harness clinking as it shifted..she was pretty heavily loaded out. "Yeah, I'm Sergeant Nomiko." She opened the driver-side door and tossed her weapon into the passenger seat before pulling herself up into the seat and cloasing the door. The HEMTT was truly a behemoth, 49 tons of armored cargo-hauler. "I am gonna need someone to give me directions, you know. You getting in or what?"

Gunny & Ronnie & Nomiko

"Ronnie Killian," she said by way of introduction.  "You weren't kidding when you said this was a big bastard," she said as she selected a 12 gauge grenade round from her harness and fed it into the SPAS 12.  "We've got a long gun covering us, we can't go straight in, we're going to follow a creek bed a hundred and fifty meters south of here and follow it southeast.  There'll be diversions, ignore them, and they'll be covering our tracks, ignore that too.  Keep this thing rolling at about fifteen miles an hour so we don't outrun our coverage or make too much noise.  You don't have any transmitters giving away your position right now, make it a special point to keep it that way or you'll really upset our guardian angels."

Ski & Meredith

Ski didn't look directly at her, or away from her either.  "We flushed a whole lot of nasty metals and chemicals out of your system," he told her.  "They were making it hard for you to use your gifts and making you fairly crazy.  That'll be a lot better now.  You won't need your squelch box as much now, you'll be able to control your mind more now."  He handed her a t-shirt.  "I have your body armor too."

Billy Ray & Cindy

"Very good, keep watching that.  Ronnie is in with her," Gunny told Cindy.  "Something made the badness pull back, which means it could be using them to watch.  The badness is harder to see on the scope, but you know about the colors, so tell me when they get close and Ronnie and I will take care of them.  We have to make that big thing vanish, so we need to make all of those eyes look other places, that'll start any minute now."

"You remember all of those bombs you helped Ronnie make last fall?" Billy Ray asked Cindy.  "When you packed the stinky playdough into cans?  Some of those will be blowing up soon."

Kyra grinned slightly as she shifted into gear. "Not much I can do about this thing's noise, it'll be loud no matter how slow I drive. But I sure as hell ain't leaving all these supplies for some random a**hole to grab onto." She gunned the engine as it roared and the massive 49 ton vehicle began to roll forward, wheels grinding organic obstacles into past and smaller-sized inanimate obstacles to dust. Spinning the wheel, she got the transport vehicle rolling southward towards the creek bed. "Transmitters? Nah, the company and I disabled 'em when our defense of L.A. went to hell. Didn't want to risk the hostiles getting hold of the necessary info to find us."

"I thought we were gonna use them to leave" she said looking away from the screen for a moment to look at him. "Does this mean we are going to stay here longer?" she asked him, her eyes shifting from Billy Ray to the screen and back again. There wasn't anything happening on the screen at the moment, so she felt safe looking away. "Who could use badness like that? They must be bad to be able to be around badness" she said her little face very serious.

Gunny & Ronnie & Nomiko

"We had to do the same thing in Atlanta," Ronnie said as she slipped out a complex computer detonator from her pocket.  He studied the screen for a moment and punched in a few codes, in the distance there was the sound of a very large explosion.  "Decoys begin," she called in to Cindy.  "Let Gunny know that the fun begins."  She looked back at Nomiko.  "It starts to get interesting from here."

Ski & Meredith / <- Karate Night Skips

Ski didn't look directly at her, or away from her either.  "We flushed a whole lot of nasty metals and chemicals out of your system," he told her.  "They were making it hard for you to use your gifts and making you fairly crazy.  That'll be a lot better now.  You won't need your squelch box as much now, you'll be able to control your mind more now."  He handed her a t-shirt.  "I have your body armor too."

Billy Ray & Cindy

Billy Ray grinned at the muffled sounds of explosions.  "We still have a lot more of them out there," he assured Cindy.  "If we have to get out of here we're going to be covered."  He heard Ronnie's call.  "Soon she'll bring down snow on the hills all over to wipe out tracks of that big beast."

Cindy nodded slightly relieved at the news that they could still leave. Even though she liked living here, she didn't like the feeling of being trapped here. It was a nice place to winter, but she knew that the bad men would find them come spring and the thought scared her.
When she felt the ground shake, Cindy gave the screen her complete attention. She watched carefully to the color shifts and location of Gunny and Ronnie.

Kyra nodded in response, focussing more on the road in front of them...the HEMTT was big and rather maneuverable, but it could still get flipped or stuck. Considering how much effeort she had put into keeping the massive vehicle and its cargo hers this whole time, she really didn't feel like losing any of it because of inattentiveness. As for the explosions...the two wouldn't even notice the vibrations amongts the truck's own rumbling diesel and the bouncing of terrain. "Just keep pointing the way."

Meredith pulled the shirt on, but was having trouble with the pants, even with laying back on the cot and working them up to her hips.  ~Little help here...~

Gunny & Ronnie & Nomiko

"Just get us into the creek bed," Ronnie said as she rolled down the window and adjusted her facemask to keep the cold out.  She eased tha barrel of the SPAS out aned triggered a round, the grenade round punched into the zombified creature and exploded a few seconds later, its head and shoulders seemed to hand in mid-air for a few seconds and fell to ground.  "I hate those things."  She observed.  "Relay to Gunny," she called to Cindy.  "Groaner tracks along the creek bed, I just finished one."

Ski & Meredith

Ski helped her to a standing position, coaxing her her to hug his neck to hold her up as he carefully tugged up her trousers and reached between then to raise the zipper and button them.  "Let your legs get used to weight on them," he hooked his arm behind her back to help hold her up.

Billy Ray & Cindy

As Cindy watched the screen Billy Ray flicked through the cameras.  He raised a brow and then flipped open a control box and popped a few flares from a site a few miles away.  He chuckles to see things freeze and grabbed a seperate SatCom.  "Betty, Betty, Betty," he called.  "What do you have for current status of Chopper Thompson?"

"Privately or publicly?"

"Very Publicly," he replied.  "I want to warn everyone in the North and Northwest."

"Five Minutes," Betty replied with a grin he could hear.

The final notes of 'Its the End of the World as We Know It,' drifted away.

"Hello world, one again on the Emergency Broadcasting Network its the Emergency Broad, Bunker Betty, live and on the air.  The fires in Hong Kong and Shanghai appear to be almost burned out, which means in about a thousand years the radiation will be low enough to support life again.  Moscow is once again the scene of massive fighting as what's left there kill each other for the crumbs.  Tonight's contestants appear to be the Mafia versus the Reborn Red Army.  Good luck boyskis, the poor schmucks you kill tonight will eat you tomorrow.

"Closer to home, surviving government forces have fortified the area around Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado and Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas.  Fighting was heavy around Lost Wages but they ordered everyone out and then bombed the city proper and all of the casinos of Glitter Gulch off of the map.

"Further north Chopper Thompson appears to have had his ass handed to him as government forces withdrew from northern bases and is still tangling with Rangers, Special Forces and Recon Marines covering the evacuation of weapons stores, and my little eyes in the sky say some of them are the big bombs that we all know as little silver crowd pleasers to the Nevada bases.  Chopper is playing hare and hounds in the mountains with what's left of his so-called grand army.  When Cassidy Whiteside's band joined with them they can only call themselves a combined arms battalion now, hardly the command of a general, which both of these ego maniacs claim to be.

"The have about six operational tanks, a dozen grounded light helicopters that didn't winter well, and a motley assortment of towed artillery that is mostly weight to burn their dwindling fuel supplies.  My friends in the forces tell me that what fuel they did have is now burning in the engines of government machines, keeping those snipers all toasty warm.

"Further East an attempt by the political government to establish itself in Chicago or Kansas City has cost them dearly in troops and materiel and those remaining are retreating to join the forces in Colorado.  I doubt they'll be happy with their reception, all that's left of the government are two senators and six members of the House with the former Secretary of the Treasury as acting President.  Good luck boys and girls, the soldiers don't play politics, they're too busy trying to build a safe zone for people.

"And that, boys and girls, is all the news that's fit to be news and then some.  Keep your heads low, your asses lower and something loaded with you all the time.  Betty Out!"

"That bitch!" Chopper raged as he always did.  "How does she get that kind of intel on us?"

"Marine snipers?" Cassidy replied as she ran her fingers through her hair.  "She's balls-on accurate though, we can't get a tweetybird in the air since our choppers all got shot up and the airdales took down our transports.  We're low on fuel and ammo and are down to an MRE a day.  We're going to fold at this rate, and nothing is coming from the west."

"My convoys can't get across from Spokane because of the weather, when the roads clear they'll come."

"No, Chopper," she disagreed.  "Unless we go back and take control, we're screwed right here, until they whittle us down to nothing."

"Ronnie says there is badness in the river bed" Cindy dutifully relayed the message to Gunny. "She says to watch out, I say that too" she said to him firmly, doing her best to make her little girl voice sound like a grown up. She reported any color variations and relayed their messages, though she did wonder why they weren't using their radios. They usually used radios when traveling, surely they would work in the snow. But Cindy was young and didn't usually question things.

She held around his neck as well as she could, her chin resting on his shoulder while he worked her pants the rest of the way on.  An errant thought drew a faint smile while her legs worked on remembering what they were used for.  ~This used to go the other way around...~  Meredith sighed softly and sat tight; not that she could have gone anywhere anyway.  But idle thoughts needed to be occupied, so she let her thoughts drift out to listen in on the static between Cindy and the others.

"Did you see those?"

"What?"

"Those flares off in the distance. A few of them, anyway. Not but 20 miles away to our 1 o'clock."

Sphynx studdied the streaking white dots of the flares through the NVGs mounted onto his helmet as he manipulated the control sticks for the helicopter, holding her stead at about 1000 feet. Windy grinned wide next to him in the co-pilot seat," I TOLD YOU I SAW SOEMTHING!" Sphynx shook his head slowly," Alright, we'll go in and take a look at it. I suppose it can't hurt too much. Too much longer and we're gonna have to head back to the air-pad and get more fuel and bed down for the morning." Windy nodded as he unhooked his restrainted and climbed backwards towards the crew compartment of the chopper to man one of the door gunner positions if needed. Sphynx wasn't quite thrilled about this deviation from the flight plan, but these signals merited a littel investigation. Especially if there had been an explosion like Windy said their had been," I'm gonna take us in low, 'bout 200 feet, hot and fast." Windy chuckled over the radio," Baby, you know how I like it." Sphynx grinned, giving his co-pilot a chance to get strapped into his chair before he started his run.

The massive helicopter fell like a brick through the air, the nose dropping foward as the tail pitched upwards, putting the bird almost into a nose dive as the rotors lost grip on the air. The helo fell stright downwards for several seconds, a feeling of weightlessness gripping the two occupants inside before the rotors finally gripped once again and slowed the decent rate. Sphynx grinned wide as he reached over, flipping the switch to prime the GAUs and the rocket pods for if they were needed. Behind him, Windy jacked his radion into the 'Scanner Box' their radio system that was set to scan the frequencies of the surrounding area, trying to pick up on any comms that people might be boradcasting. It wasn't set on any encyrptions, but it would at least pick up static if it found people using an crypto-channel. Windy did like wise with the cannon that he sat behind, flipping the switch to send power to the massive weapons platform, ready for a single push to send 21 rounds a second of hot, steaming .50cal lead into any targets that might present themselves as hostile.

Sphynx looked down to the control pannel as he continued to drop the helo from it's cruising ceiling of 1000 feet down to 200. Fuel was a little over half way full. They hadn't reached 'No Return' yet. and if necessary, he could flip over to the reserve tank and eat some of that for a little bit. That gave them about an hour or so of flight at full crank time if needed. Once the aircraft dropped to it's desired elevation, thepilot pulled back on the sticks, pulling her out level and jetting off towards the dying flares at maximum speed. On te ground 189 miles per hour looked fast. But up here, it wasn't as impressive as one might think. Granted, the tree tops shot by below the helo in a blurr, but looking out through the front windscreens, it didn't look all that fast. It always amazed Sphynx.

The pilot scanned the area as the bird flew at a blistering speed. The air-ship was covering the ground at break neck speeds, covering 10 miles in all of 4 minutes, halfway to the site of the flares. The radar on the front of the arcraft mapped out the landscape ahead of them as they blazed along. After a few seconds, Windy piped up from the back," We've got some radio chatter, boyo. Encrypted. Black Box is trying to crack it, but it might take a little bit." Sphynx nodded, apparently there was someone over here. How many? that was still to be dsicovered," Roger, let me know when you break through. Or if they try to contact us. If they're civies who stumbled across a military radio, the might not know how to use the equipment."

((the Helo is coming in from behind where the flares originated, relative to the bunker. LP, let me know what kind of badies they would be seeing as they are head into the area. I havn't been able to glean any information from the posts so far on what enemy forces are in the area. Need to know what is around for me to blow up. LOL! Profiles for both pilots AND the aircraft are located in my Profile Roster. Take a loook!))

The immense vehicle ground is way into the creekbed, turning in a spray of mud to begin following the natural pathway. She glanced over at Ronnie, nodding a bit as the sound of the helo's rotors began to come into hearing distance. "Hey, we got some airborne on the way. You got anything to deal with 'em if they're hostile? All my heavy gear is in the trailer."

Meredith blinked, and turned her head, staring blankly at the wall, her attention elsewhere, somewhere beyond those eathen walls that kept them safe.  She blinked a couple times, and then her voice, or her hum rather, sounded softly.  It was the opening line to an old Beatles song, and in Ski's head, Paul McCartney's voice echoed, almost earily, like a distant radio down an echoey hall.  ~Blackbird singing in the dead of night...take these broken wings and learn to fly...~

She frowned again, watching the helocopter approach from a mental height as if she herself were a bird, looking down on the machine as it flew across the treetops.  "Those birds...don't fly anymore..."

Aboard Tiamat

Low and fast scattered heat blips flashed by, most of them large blob shapes under camou netting and snow, a tank lager, they appeared to be arrayed in a circle, guns outward in a classic defensive position.  Several warnings came on at once, search radar, unaimed passive radar and one small tracking set that switched from 'search' to 'acquire' as they crossed a trio of HMMWVs along the river, one appeared to be configured air air defense.

Gunny & Ronnie & Nomiko

"Oh that's just craptastic," Ronnie grumbled.  "Keep us moving, we have things wired and I don't want to be a nice hot obliging target surrounded by snow and ice."  Then she flipped her comm unit to speaker as a warning tone came through.

Ski & Meredith

He felt the warnings in the air around them too.  "If you feel up to it lets go to the ready room and see what's going on."  In truth he was ready to carry her, he really wanted to know.

Billy Ray & Cindy

"CRAP!" Billy ray looked at the air defense screen, he flicked the com set to their Satellite Guard frequency and when all keyed units returned a sync light he sent the warning.  "Unknow rider, unknown rider, single chopper to northeast, flying just over treetop around 200 clicks.  I'm getting multiple ground to air sets, use as diversion and haul ass.  Chopper is reorienting to deal with it."

He weighed the risks and flicked guard on standard comms.  "Unknown chopper, unknown chopper, you are locked up, break and extend, use all countermeasures and evade!"

Dirtbag Central

"Bring it down!" Chopper screamed into the radio, unconcerned that it was an open frequency.  "They're the eyes for the rest, killitkillitkillit!"

"Aw fuck... WINDY! We're hot and bothered! Evasive actions. three targets, Starbord, Light Armor with a flyswatter!, Take out that air defense if you can line up a shot!"

Windy unhooked the harness on the seat, standing up behind the massive gun as he looked out through the open doorway, locking his feet into two loopholes to keep himself slightly stable as the Tiamate began to pitch and veer. Whoever these guys were they were not any kind of friendly. Windy hefted the gun by the control handles as he tried to line up sights on the humvee with the SAM launcher mounted on the top of it. That beast was going to be a bitch if it got a lock. Even as Sphynx manuvered the helo, Windy tracked the humvee, clicking the firings studd and sending the barrels spinning to life. Instantly the beast barked out a long heavy stream of lead towards the Air Defense vehicle, the line of fire kicking up a line of snow and rocks and dirt as it traced a line along the ground towards the target. Windy watched the path, anticipating when the weapon was over the vehicle and holding it there as the chopper moved, sustaining a long 5 second burst of fire over the vehicle, shredding it into peices as the rounds punched the thing into a block of something reminicent of swiss cheese.

As soon as he heard the door gun stop firing, Sphynx banked hard right, kicking the starbord side low and cutting in towards the vehicles that were painting them. He had tried to make sure to give Windy as good of a firing platform as possible before he had been forced to take evasive actions. Over the radio an unknown advisor pipped up over the air, barking out advise. Sphynx had already known that he was going to do just what the man said. With SAM capabilities on the ground, the only sure thing to do when someone is trying to aquire a missle lock was to pop chaff and bug out.

Sphyx just wished that he could reach over and hit the auto-tracking switch for the Toplite. that would help him track the incoming radar source that was trying to lock on. He hoped to god that Windy had waisted that launcher, but the radar was still active for the moment, so he wasn't going to wait and find out. Plus, gods only knew what else these forces could pull up from the defensive positions that they had set up. Sphynx leveled out the chopper a half second later, giving his hand a fraction of a second to reach over and pound the button for countermeasures, dropping flares and chaff out from the ass of the aircraft as screamed past the trio of humvees. Sphynx barked through the comms,"Thank you, Captain Obvious!" His hands deftly mainipulating the control yokes again to bring the bird nose up into the air. The vehicle gained about another hundred feet of altitude before it came to the point of almost stalling. Sphynx kicked the tail around once more, bringing the bird around into a dive in all of a second. he heard windy yelp behind him as the man's safety teather caught him from being tossed out to door of the aircraft," Warn me next time, you son of a bitch!" Sphynx laughed openly  as he looked down. Now the three vehicles, one of them belching smoke were ined up for his guns. He clicked the firing stud for both GAUs and the Rtocket pods, blasting forth a spray of fire. The rocket streaked forward, their engines burning brightly in the night air, tracking their path before they exploded into the grond. Each one getting closer to the line of vehicles as the Helo corrected it's path. the tracer rounds on the gattling guns marked their path as well, tracking straight to the back of the next hummer in line. The .50 cal ammo shredded it for about a second before a rocket impated and blew the thing ass over nose, landing it straight onto the back of the only vehicle left. but that was only a second before the cannons started chewing that one up as well, shredding the armor to ribbons before the line of fire passed over the vehicle. All in all, 6 rockets had been expended and ten seconds of ammunition, so about 330 rounds or so.. give or take a seonds worth.

The helo peeled off from the smoking wreckage of teh three vehicles and headed off away from the larger defensive position before they could pull up any solid reinforcements. Sphynx's teeth were still clenched shut to the point of hurting as he looke backwards for a second to Windy. The man gave a thumbs up, indicating he was alright. Sphynx shook his head again before pipping into the comms," Unknown identifier, sorry for short response. Little bastards took me by suprise. I hate that. This is Tiamat of the former US Army 160th SOAR. Please identify."

Cindy didn't mind that Billy Ray took over the comm. In fact she was glad he had. She wasn't really sure how to deal with the helicopter, they were a threat she hadn't ever encountered before. Cindy scooted back to let him get a better veiw of the screen.

~Legs don't work.~  Her answer was short, but succinct.  She couldn't walk yet, so he would have to carry her.  Her attention was more focused on the firefight in the sky.  Her vision never wavered, watching as the helicopter danced and pitched in the air, avoiding the attacks from below.  She heard their frenzied thoughts, mingled with the violence from the people on the ground.  So caught up, that she didn't think to pull back her awareness until it was too late.  The first vehicle was destroyed, and with it those who rode inside.  The backlash of death hit her like a punch in the gut, that sudden release of awareness and energy from a body that could no longer hold it swarming over her extended awareness.  She sucked in a gasping breath and tensed in Ski's arms, followed by an almost pained scream when the second and third vehicles and their riders followed the first.  Her eyes shut tight and she retreated quickly back to herself with whimpered sobs, releasing her hold on him in an attempt to curl around herself and keep the dead from following her.  She didn't want to hear them.  Didn't want to see them.  Didn't want that lingering link that would let her feel the intact bodies begin to turn and arise once more.

Aboard Tiamat

"Tiamat, Shangri La, sorry, we're not in the identify business," Billy Ray replied.  "Be advised, there are a few triple-a trucks hidden out there," he mentioned as a long stream of tracer rounds cut through the sky a few hundred yards ahead of them.  "Recommend you bend your course a bit more northeast."

Gunny & Ronnie & Nomiko

Gunny watched the truck carefully, staying to the high ground he was able to move faster than the truck could.  "Cindy," he called back to base.  "I'm seeing footprints up here, some of them barefoot, see if you can pick out any groaners for me."

"I don't like it," Ronnie murmured to Nomiko.  "There are enough assholes, living and dead to walk over without toucning ground, so why have we got a clear road?"  She studied the high banks running up from the creek.  "I'm glad this isn't any taller, we have a crapload of claymores and party favors up there to cut down a forest."

Ski & Meredith

Ski felt her anguish and touched his forehead to hers, his skin cool against hers.  "I have your box," he said quietly.  "You're still too foggy to shield I think."  He let his own calm seep into her, sharing his shields with her as he tried to stimulate those parts of her mind that could protect her psyche.  "We can wait a few minutes yet."

Billy Ray & Cindy

"You're fine," he kept her from sliding back too far.  "I've got the air defense screens, you have ground defense.  He flicked a few switches on and the smaller computer monitors around her large screen showed low light and thermal views.  "They are cold," he said.  "It'll be hard to see them, but there's gunny and the truck."  As Billy Ray shifted back to keep tabs on the chopper a few shapes moved in the shadows of the trees and bushes a hundred yards from Gunny.

Dirtbag Central

"Sunuvabitch," Chopper's fingers laced behind his head and his bent arms seemed to hug his head.  "One chopper and we're down two hummers and our last air-to-air missile truck."

"And talking to commandos on the ground," Cassidy reminded him.  "Probably the ones covering the Army's withdrawal to the south."

"We're getting shot up to the south and blown up to the northeast," Thompson agreed.  "We're up against well trained forces, armed to the teeth and operating from prepared positions, we push and they fall back to the next and blow up what we've taken and who we sent to take it."

"West to northwest is clear, Sun Tzu wouldn't fault us for falling back along our own lines of supply and communication," she pointed out.  "We're short of everything we'll need to tackle prepared positions and trained troops."

"So, Spokane?"

"We send back scouts to Spokane and he pull back until they come up to join us.  At least  get back to the Rockies where the mountains, positions and troops are all ours."

Cindy noticed the screen, "there is badness one line from you" she told Gunny. "There is also a chopper flying around out there, be careful. I think he is shooting up stuff" she said concerned that he didn't know what to shoot and what not to shoot. Cindy looked closer at where the big truck was traveling. She watched closly for any sign of groaners, she too did think it odd they had vanished. "Ronnie, there is a chopper out there, he might be nice. Billy Ray is talking to him" she informed her. "I don't see any badness by you, why not?" she asked her.

His paint smeared on her skin where they touched, but his influence helped.  The lingering traces she couldn't sweep away were cut off when he wrapped his own sheilds around her, and finally her mind was her own again.  Her whimpers eased, and she clutched weakly at his chest while recovering.

Black Operaters, huh? Sphynx nodded, used to such personnel, so it didn't suprise him. But the warning only caused a grin to spread over his face once again as the tracer rounds pointed out the humvee a short distance away from the chopper. The radar was picking up the signature as well, bringing up a blip on the small screen mounted into the middle of the instrument cluster," Are you kidding? I havn't been able to have fun like this in over a month. I break for nobody! See? I can see them, but they can't see me. At least not very well." He chuckled as he shifted the helo on it's course slowly, adjusting so that he moved straight towards the air defense platform that was apparently having a hard time judging where the helicopter was by noise alone. Sphynx pulled back on the controlls once again, pulling Tiamat into a quick hover, giving him just enough time to pop off two more rockets towards the sitting truck, but each missed, one hitting off the ass end and the other impacting infront of the nose. The gunner ontop of the vehicle instantly moved the cannons towards where the rockets had come from. Sphynx responded by straffing the helo hard left, pressing hard on the tail rotor as the bird pitched left, moving straight to the left instead of turning to face a different heading. He growled a second as he struggled to line up the crosshairs on the HUD infront of him once more, firing off another two rockets as the cannons pumped a long burst of fire straight where the helo had been only a second ago, and moved towards where the rockets were coming from again. But this time, it didn't have the time as both rockets slammed into the vehicle, broadsiding it and sending up a huge fireball as the vehicle exploded from the warheads on the front of the rockets, flipping it in a barrel roll several times before crashing back down to the earth.

Sphynx looked around once more, trying to pick out any more targets on the radar or by visual. There was nothing in the immediate area, and he didn't know if some uppity infantry men might be trying to get a Stinger up to bear on him at that moment, so the bird pitched forward once more, building up speed quickly before altering course towards where the radio operated had indicated before," Be advise, mystery informant, a mid-sized defensive perimeter was spotted several clicks back from where I came in at. Didn't seem like they were making themselves friendly either. If you want, I can go light some campfires for them before bugging out."

Kyra grunted in response to Ronnie's concerns, shifting one hand from the wheel to reach down to her right thigh and unsnap a specific fastener, preparing her SW1911 for a quick draw if she needed it. "Never look a gift horse in the mouth, right? But I guess it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Think you can use that SMG?" She nodded towards the MP5 that she had set between them. "I got my sidearm, so I should be fine either way. But I think you'll be able to bring that to bear a little quicker than a 12 gauge." She narrowed her eyes a bit, scanning the road ahead, searching for any booby traps or hidden threats...she definitely did not want to lose this truck.
