Newbie? Oldbie, perhaps.
« on: June 13, 2011, 01:11:05 AM »
Greetings, Programs!

I.. Er..  Oh, right - that's my alternate self.

Hello, fellow RPG'ers, writers and artists!  I just wanted to stop in and wave exaggeratedly, and then blame my presence firmly upon Ezri and Shae.

It's all their fault.  I have rock-solid video proof.   <.<

Anyhoo, a bit about myself.  Since Ezri continually makes reference to how shockingly old I am, I'll simply say ...  Yes, I did own an original Basic D&D Boxed Set.  Yes, I did have a first-edition copy of Deities & Demigods with the Melnibonean and Cthulhu mythos intact.  Yes, I did have copies of the Chainmail RPG, and as the saying goes, "He's forgotten more about roleplaying games than you'll ever know!"  Probably not true, but sometimes it's just fun to talk a lot of shit.

Over the years, I've played ...  *thinks*  *frowns, thinks harder*  ... D&D, everything from basic to 4th Edition; Gamma World; Boot Hill (cowboy western RPG); Traveller;  Top Secret; Champions!; Call of Cthulhu; Thieves' World; MechWarrior; RoboTech; GURPS; Cyberpunk; Vampire: The Masquerade; Amber Diceless Roleplaying.  Obviously some I've played more than others, but suffice to say I've had my fair share of experience with many RPG's, on both sides of the table - player and Game Master.

In addition to RPG'ing, I've aspired to write professionally - something I hope to actually realize as a goal one of these days quite soon.  While friends and relatives repeatedly claim their love for my prose, I'll wait until it's stood the test of time in the hands of editors, publishers, and the general public.  This is, of course, not to discount the opinions of my friends and family - they're just biased, I say.

Rounding out the trio of requisite skills, I've also done a bit of artwork - drawing, sketching, and the like.  It's something I quite enjoy doing, but I know my talent is far below the level necessary to consider any sort of professional aspirations.  Ezri has hounded me on more than one occasion to show her my old drawings, which I'll probably do one of these days... But as for new works, I daresay the chances of more are quite slim - I simply don't have the time to sit down and devote my time to sketching and drawing any more.

*ponders* well, let's see - if I haven't to this point established myself as an uber-nerdcore geek, I'll round it out with a few of my hobbies...  Video games; reading Fantasy and Science Fiction; tearing apart and re-engineering electronics; contemplating the health of Schrodinger's cat; computing Pi to the fiftieth digit, pondering why anyone would need to compute Pi to the fiftieth digit; wielding large-caliber handguns; showering attention upon my cat; plotting to take over the world; wondering why my cat simply ignores all the attention I shower upon her; wondering why anyone in their right mind would want to take over the world in the first place; and playing bocce.

Questions and comments are welcome, so long as potential worshipers come well-equipped with butterfingers and unsweetened tea.

Unsweetened tea?  :nono: Sweet tea!  ;)

Welcome, hey there and howdy-do to you!  You have to watch the Ezri-Shae combination... very dangerous.  We do have Shae's baby picture as a smiley though!   (66)

trying to cut down on the sugar myself, you know :) That once-hyperactive metabolism has grown lax over the last few years, making it hard for me to maintain my girlish figure.  *chuckles*

As for Ezri and Shae, yes I have to agree - though Ezri has been tempting me with the allure of home-cooked meals, and Shae does have that chainmail bikini that I'm definitely going to need a closer look at...

Sir Lancelot: We were in the nick of time. You were in great peril.
Sir Galahad: I don't think I was.
Sir Lancelot: Yes, you were. You were in terrible peril.
Sir Galahad: Look, let me go back in there and face the peril.
Sir Lancelot: No, it's too perilous.
Sir Galahad: Look, it's my duty as a knight to sample as much peril as I can.
Sir Lancelot: No, we've got to find the Holy Grail. Come on.
Sir Galahad: Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril?
Sir Lancelot: No. It's unhealthy.
Sir Galahad: I bet you're gay.
Sir Lancelot: Am not.

I have to agree with LP, sweet tea for the win! Of course, I might be biased as he is my husband. But if you ask anyone, most would agree that I am most particular about my food and others tastes do not sway my own, haha!

Anyway, welcome (back) and I hope you like what you see.

I would like to take a moment and bask in the knowledge of this inevitable corruption. Because inside I'm cackling and steepling my fingers, waiting until Shae gets home so I can give her a high-five. It's what I do.
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?"
"Not one bit. But it's okay, I'm like every landlord in the nation. I've Googled directions."

I joined and haven't done anything here ... Tis very sad and horribly wrong of me... Everyone and I do me everyone calls me Amma unless on Gaiaonline than it's Natsu SAN or StateAlchemist Natsu (I might get back into it if I had more people interest in me and not be jerks, very long story) But yes I am Amma my Star Wars persona that has just stuck.

I've had a rather interesting life, making for good character designing (And I have a granddaddy of a character list). Like I said I enjoy Star Wars, but my first love has been Star Trek, I remember being 8-years-old and being dressed up as a Trill, I later grew into Wars and Stargate, and finally into Anime. I also enjoy rotting my brain out with game (Board and Video). I am an AVID book reader.

I write, draw, sing, dance, and well a jack of all trades in the creative world. I tend to write and draw a lot more than anything else, hopefully I can get into some of the forums around here and share, probably fanfics mostly since I really don't want to share my original stories to anyone other than family and trusted friends.

if there is anything else people are interested in know please fill free to ask I'm generally an open person.

Sincerely Amma
the future is not set in stone, there are paths and each leads to what we hope for or this destruction. It is up to us to decide where it will lead.

Personal saying through personal character named Hope
